Check-in Time: 15:00
Check-out Time: 10:00

Outside Description

Parking is next to the cottage and access is via a stone paved terrace. There is a small enclosed garden at the back of the cottage, with a paved seating area with chairs and table in summer. There is a beautiful view from the garden looking east down the valley.

Downstairs Description

The cottage sleeps four people comfortably in two bedrooms; a cot and a sofabed are also available for extra family members. The front door opens onto one open space with a large inglenook fireplace complete with bread oven, dominating the ‘living’ end of the room. Here you can sit around the open fire telling stories, reading, listening to music or watching television. At the other end, there is a fully equipped kitchen with hand built oak units and a large refectory table. There is also a small cloakroom with lavatory and washbasin and room for wellies and boots. Home made bread, butter, milk and fresh eggs from the farm’s hens are provided as are tea and coffee.

First Floor Description

Wooden stairs lead up to a spacious landing and to one room with two single beds, the bathroom and the double bedroom with a magnificent chimney breast. The cottage keeps it’s ancient authenticity and rural feel by retaining the old beams complete with redundant peg holes through which the children can spy on their parents! Oak flooring with rugs and mats adds to the cosy and comfortable feel of the place; though watch your heads, some of the doorways are very low.

Windows Views Description

Stunning views of the beautiful Shropshire farmland with its green fields, sheep and cattle and with every season a different scene.

Other Notes

We have superfast cable internet over a free wi-fi connection. However, there is little or no cell phone coverage. The track to the farm is stone and can be pot-holed at times. Best to take it carefully and know that my little car (nearly new) goes up and down regularly. Dogs are welcome, but please be aware that we do not take kindly to dogs being left in the cottage on their own.

Dogs Welcome: Squire Farm welcomes both Dogs and Horses if guests wish to bring the pets with them. Take a look at Xidong Cottage located on the same premises.
