Dragonfly At Thompson

Thompson, Thetford, Norfolk, Countryside

Sleeping under canvas without compromising on your creature comforts – what could be better? A quirky combination of Shepherd’s Hut and bell tent, Dragonfly ticks all the "glamping" experience boxes!

Situated in an open meadow on the outskirts of King Edward VIII wood in Thetford, Dragonfly is as ephemeral as the namesakes that flit over the surface of Thompson’s Lake a mile away – here all too briefly and then gone by summer’s end.

The wide double doors invite you to step through into the pared-back interior where you will find the perfect place to relax in comfort. Two comfortable sofas with their bright throws and cushions offer the ideal place in which to consider the activities of the day or maybe just kick back and watch the sky as the day ebbs into night. The spectacular king-sized bedroom tent offers you a haven in which to retire, with fine linens.

After a hard day of exploring the area on the myriad paths and cycle-ways which criss-cross the countryside near Dragonfly, you can ease your aching muscles in the sauna in the outdoor spa area. Or, spend some time in the hot tub before enjoying an invigorating drench under the solar-powered shower. Wrap yourself in a complimentary robe before heading back to Dragonfly, where you can relax at the spacious outside dining table. If you like to dine (and cook!) al fresco, the fire pit will provide the perfect space in which to rustle up something delicious. You can even use the herbs growing nearby.

Take some time to sit and watch out for the abundant wildlife – the adjacent land is owned by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust – you are sure to see some of the creatures up close.
