Outside Description

The Shepherd's Cottage is a cosy little hideaway with a stunning private walled garden on one side and the perfect patio for evening drinks whilst watching the sun set on the other. Hidden away in the walled garden is an outdoor roll top bath - watch the stars in the sky whilst sipping champagne!

Downstairs Description

The two spacious rooms downstairs offer a chance to escape from busy lives, you can experiment with new recipes on the claret red Aga then snuggle up on the sofa in front of the wood burner with a treat from your own mini Honesty Bar.
There's a small cold pantry, perfect for food & drink storage, which you pass on your way up the old stone steps to the first floor. In here you'll find the Honesty Bar with local beers and spirits from around Cumbria & the Dales, alongside bottles of fizz & aperitifs. On the shelves you'll also find our homemade jams, chutney's, sloe gin & damson vodka, which can be bought during your stay.

First Floor Description

At the top of the stone stairs there's a stunning changing room with dressing table & wardrobe set against beautiful oak stud framed wall, behind which is the large bathroom with a double ended roll top cast iron bath and separate shower. Take time to light the candles and relax, then pop on the fluffy robes whilst you glam yourselves up in the adjacent changing room.

Wandering through to the oversized bedroom you'll find a handmade oak four poster bed just waiting to jumped in to. Expect a heavenly night sleep in this superking-sized bed, surrounded by peace and quiet.

Windows Views Description

Looking past the walled cottage garden you can see the leafy lane that takes your eye out to the fields and fells beyond. From the lounge and bedroom windows the view stretches for 35 miles, all the way to Blencathra, the famous mountain just outside of Keswick.

Other Notes

The Shepherd's Cottage is at the end of it's own lane, it's a traditional stone track and can be a bit bumpy for some cars.
The cottage sits next to The Farmhouse and adjacent to Angel Barn, which can be rented all together for large groups of up to 16 guests.

Dogs Welcome: Dogs welcome downstairs. £20 per dog.
Child Friendly: Travel cots & high chairs provided free of charge. A z-bed can be set up in the 'Little Room' for £25.
Hot Tub: Outdoor rolltop bath in walled garden
Group Getaways: The Shepherd's Cottage can be hired with The Farmhouse next door to accommodate 10 guests. Adding Angel Barn as well creates a space for up to 16 guests - a wonderful party location!
Eco Escape: The heating & hot water is produced by a Wood Chip Biomass Bioler.
