West Porlock, Nr Minehead, Somerset, Seaside village

Conifer House is an impressive Somerset holiday home and country residence which forms part of West Porlock House, it was built in 1922 as the main manor house for the Porlock Estate and now is divided into three properties. The house occupies a superb location; quietly nestled at beneath woodlands which lead up to the moor, and enjoying wonderful views over Porlock Bay towards Hurlestone Point.

The garden of Conifer House is a special treat for any gardening enthusiasts; when the house was built the Blathwayt’s employed plant guru Edward Percival as head gardener who exchanged cuttings of unusual plants imported from all over the world, especially Japan, with two famous 20th century plantsmen - Norman Hadden and EB Anderson who both had properties in West Porlock.
