Bishops Gate is a holiday property for up to 6 guests that oozes history and charm - the Roman arch is even listed in the Domesday Book. The walled garden borders the church next door giving a feeling of space and tranquillity. The cottage offers a relaxed vibe and we suggest it's a perfect base for a country break yet within walking distance of all the amenities this historical town has to offer.
Wiveliscombe is a former market and cloth making town, near to the county town of Taunton. The history is clear to see and it's well worth a visit. Wiveliscombe is on the border of Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It's just 15 minutes in the car to the Quantocks where there are fantastic walks and stunning views.
Entrance to the property is via the front door under the Roman arch. A small hallway with some hooks for hanging coats just inside the door, and a downstairs cloakroom off the hall. The kitchen-dining room is spacious and well-equipped. There is also a good-sized living room with wood-burner on the ground floor. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms.
