Outside Description

Horseshoe Cottage has a pretty lawned area at the gable end of the cottage with a table and two chairs facing onto the bridge and the Hetton burn. Holburn Mill has some very pretty grounds, including the lawned entrance driveway to the cottage and mill, which is available for guests to use beyond the bridge. A bench seat is provided on the entrance lawn which is very pretty.

Downstairs Description

Entrance is straight into the well equipped and surprisingly large kitchen space, framed with original wooden beams above. The kitchen has a pretty window that looks out to the Hettorn Burn trickling under the bridge at the front of the cottage and wildlife can be regularly spotted milling around the banks of the burn.

The kitchen contains a full size fridge/freezer, electric oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine (with an initial supply of pods provided), washer/dryer and dishwasher.

The drop leaf dining table seats just two.

The lounge contains a sofa to comfortably seat two guests, facing onto a wall-mounted Smart TV.

The pretty bedroom is filled with fabrics by Voyage and Laura Ashley, and contains a king size bed (5ft wide). Two coach-style full length windows let in plenty of bright sunshine.

En Suite Bathroom This gorgeous bathroom contains a small, roll-top bath with claw-feet with a shower above.

Other Notes

Horseshoe Cottage is located opposite Holburn Mill Cottage, which a 1-bedroom pretty cottage owned by the same owner of the mill.

There is pretty seating at the gable end of the cottage looking out to the grounds, but it’s not completely private and not enclosed. For little ones who may like to explore, please don’t leave them unattended.
