Set on the outskirts of King Edward VIII wood in an open meadow just outside Thetford Forest, Firefly is as transient as the swallows that swoop above – here for the summer only. This quirky glamping experience is a combination of shepherd hut and tented living which offers the romance of sleeping under canvas, without depriving you of your creature comforts.
Step through the wide double doors of the shepherd’s hut into the cool, laidback interior and you will find the perfect spot to kick back and relax. The two cosy sofas with their colourful cushions and throws will invite you to linger while you contemplate the day, or maybe just chill and watch as the day fades into twilight. When you finally tire of the peace and quiet, retire to the spectacular bedroom tent. Here you will find a king-size double bed dressed with sumptuous linen and gorgeous cushions to lull you to sleep.
In addition to the accommodation, you can spend time relaxing in the unique outside spa area, which is included in the price of your accommodation. Enjoy the hot tub or soothe aching muscles in the sauna, before cooling off under the reviving solar-powered shower.
Wrap yourself in a complimentary robe and drift back to Firefly. Pull up a chair and relax at the comfortable outside dining table or rustle up something delicious for dinner and cook it on the outside fire pit (help yourself to the herbs growing nearby!).
With adjacent land owned by the Norfolk Wildlife trust, you are sure to see plenty of birdlife and wildlife and maybe even the odd deer, hare and hedgehog – keep your eyes (and ears!) open.
