Outside Description

As you turn into Down Farm, you will see a panoramic view of our south facing valley. the drive sweeps down into our court yard where you will find Copper Kettle Cottage. 53 Acres of Organic pasture land and woodlands, are at your disposal during your stay with us, A large Patio area at the front of the Cottage has an abundance of tables and chairs so you can sit back and enjoy the amazing views over the valley in the day and there is a large lawn perfect for games, tournaments, or just laying on. There are also Flower beds and hedgerows, and organic allotment and a poly tunnel.

Downstairs Description

Through the rose and honeysuckle framed stable door entrance to Copper Kettle Cottage you enter into a beautiful galley style kitchen with fully integrated kitchen appliances and every modern convenience you could require.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, pots, pans, plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware, kitchen roll, cling film, foil, bin bags, washing up essentials, tea towels, as well as fresh herbs, essential condiments, and all environmentally friendly cleaning products. The kitchen window views are stunning, looking over an ancient water trough with beautiful views of grazing sheep in the distance.

First Floor Description

3 spacious bedrooms, a double decorated in the hues of the local moorland, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom, both decorated in sunny colours. All bedrooms have views over the cottage gardens and honeysuckle fences, whose heady perfume fills the bedrooms in the evening.

The large family sized bathroom is gorgeous, with a large, walk in shower and a family sized bath and a heated towel rail Bed linen, towels and beach towels are all provided as well as tea towels & bath mats.

Second Floor Description

A comfortable country style lounge/diner, it is full of squashy sofas and cushions, pictures and curios, and a pine dining table with 6 chairs. There is a wall bookcase bulging full of books, local tourist information, boxes of jigsaws and games, and an assortment of family DVDs with flat screen TV & SKY. It is a large lounge with some beams so please mind your head if you are very tall!! The cast iron log burner and stone inglenook fireplace gives it a real country charm, nothing better than to read a book, or browse the internet in front of a log burning fire.

Windows Views Description

Copper Kettle Cottage is centrally heated out of season. but you may still wish to light the fire with free logs for the log burner (help yourself to logs).

To the side of the cottage is a log store and a small herb garden. We also have an organic allotment, where guests are welcome to ask Adrian to pick them the best seasonal fruits and vegetables available.

Other Notes

We have 7 Gorgeously friendly cats, and they do not need an invitation to come and visit with you, sit on a lap, or share your evening snacks. They are everywhere, so please be mindful when driving in our yard.

Lake Views
Child Friendly: Children are very very welcome, With lots of DVDs, books, reference books, toys and a 53 acre playground to play, run, skip and shout in. There is also a beautiful treehouse to play, tree swings. and large glass fields to play football.
Tots Travel Bag: Within each holiday property there is a high chair, plastic cups, plates and cutlery, a baby bath, changing mats, pottys, bed rails, high chairs and stair gates.
Swimming Pool: We have a glorious fresh water lake, stream feed for the hearty wild swimmers... There is also a 30 foot long slide that juts out into the lake and an island to row and explore too.
Hot Tub: Coming Summer 2017 a wood burning HotTub, positionedon its own patio, over looking the allotment with countryside views.
Group Getaways: Our Party barn is available to rent for groups to gather in. We can decorate it to suit your party needs, and can even arrange for the hire of a local catering company. Please contact us for more details.
Corporate Connections: In the past we have been utilised for team building weekends and have even had a bootcamp operate for a weekend. Please contact us for more information.
Wedding Pads: Down Farm Estate’s charm and inspiring landscapes offer the ideal setting for your country wedding or special occasion. Our Estate is set within 53 acres of Organic grasslands, meadows, woods and a fresh water lake in the idyllic Countryside.
Farm Experience: Bottle feed tame lambs in the Spring, become a Hen Monitor (with Basket) and feed the Hens, put them too bed and collect the eggs. Fishing with barbless rods at the lake and when available Clay Pigeon Shooting. Please contact us for more details.

Organic Options: We are a 53scre Organic Grassland Farm, helping to feed Organic Sheep and cows. We provide where possible organic cleaning products in all our properties, as our water supply is filtered into our land and stream.
