Odd Cottage is a pretty Cotswolds Luxury Holiday Cottage located in the village of Oddington. Oddington is a enchanting Cotswolds village that can only be described as typical quintessence of English rural life and this pretty village is no exception as it still holds the charm of a typical 11th century Cotswolds Village.
A traditional English village was usually made up of a small settlement that had a parish church, a school and a shop or two with one usually including a post office. There would have been at least two pubs serving locals and usually a manor house that was set in it’s own grounds and usually referred to as ‘the great house’.
Oddington still offers the charm of a traditional village with its historical Church of St. Nicholas which date back to the 12th century, two pubs, The Fox and The Horse and Groom and a Manor House which originally dates back to the 12th Century. During the 13th century the Manor House was one of the archbishop of York residences and King Henry III often stopped there when traveling between Woodstock and Evesham.
Odd Cottage is tucked down a tiny lane, just off the road that runs through the two Oddington villages. There is only three cottages on Brans Lane and Odd Cottage nestles in between the other two and its lidilic setting makes it a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds. You enter the cottage into the spacious lounge/Dining Room which has exposed beans and brick fireplace with a wood burning stove. This luxurious living area feels cosy with its sumptuousness two and three-seater sofas, offering a great place to wine and dine while enjoying the fabulous log burning stove.
Through the original back door there is a separate luxury appointed kitchen, which has an Oven and Hob, Microwave, Fridge Freezer and Food Mixer and a Utility room with a Washer/Dryer.
In the summer you can relax with al-fresco dining in the secluded brick-paved courtyard and cook on the Barbecue provided.
From the lounge there is an open staircase leading to the first floor where there are two pretty cottage style double bedrooms (Double Beds) one offering a colour TV/DVD. Also upstairs is the luxury appointed Bathroom with Shower over the bath.

Dogs welcome. Odd Cottage is an ideal Cotswolds Pets Welcome Cottage and all four legged friends will receive a special doggy welcome pack.

Tourist Attractions: Odd Cottage is perfectly placed for visiting many key tourist attractions including the stunning cotswolds villages of The Slaughters and Bourton-on- the Waterwhich also offers the Birdland Park, Railway Exhibition and Toy Shop and Cotswolds Motor Museum which is overflowing with vintage and classic cars and caravans, precarious looking motorcycles, original enamel signs and an intriguing collection of motoring curiosities, it is a genuinely captivating experience for all the family. Another popular Cotswolds town to visit is Burford with its excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and close by you can visit Cotswolds Wildlife Park and Gardens and encounter Anteaters, peer at Giraffes, roar at the Lions or waddle like a Penguin, in over 160 acres of beautiful parklands. One of the most famous Cotswolds villages and a little gem is Broadway, which has a fantastic range of shops, restaurants and pubs and of the most picturesque of the Cotswold villages with its picture perfect honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. Also close by is Mill Dene Garden which is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This romantic garden is set around a lovely mill which is probably Norman. Sited in its own steep sided valley, the garden has hidden paths winding up from the mill-pool and stream at the bottom through the Rose Walk to the Cricket Lawn.
Eating and Drinking: Just a two minutes walk from Odd Cottage you will find The Horse and Groom, a quintessential English 16th Century Cotswold stone inn. This beautiful pub offers a cosy bar area for casual dining and a superb restaurant with menus offering seasonal produce and ‘specials board’ changes twice daily with the emphasis on local produce.
Food Stores: The nearest supermarket is Tesco which is located in Stow On The Wold which is only 3 miles away. Why not pre order your grocery orders for delivery for the cottage.
Just over a miles away you will find the delights of Dalesford Organic Farm specialize organic, fresh, seasonal and local foods. From award-winning handmade cheeses, breads, pastries, cakes and biscuits from their organic Bakery and fresh meat is from their organic estate in Staffordshire. You can dine at their restaurant and Café at the Farmhouse, where you will find everything under one award-winning roof. You can also order on-line for a Cottage delivery.

Naunton Downs Golf Club which offers 18 holes and is 8 miles away and 13 miles away you will find Burford Golf Club a renowned 18 hole golf course. And if you fancy a bit of Clay Pigeon shooting visit Cotswolds Shooting at Murcot, Broadway is 16 miles away.

"We were here in April for a short break.The cottage is extremely well equipped,clean and cosy.On arrival we found a very useful welcome pack with all essential provisions.Also in the bathroom there was a selection of toiletries. All very much appreciated.It is situated in a very peaceful location in a lovely village and well positioned to visit the surrounding villages and towns.After a day out it was great to relax on the comfy sofas and enjoy the log burner.We had a lovely meal in the Fox one evening. Would definitely recommend this cottage to friends. "
