Overview

Lakeside House is a detached and recently decorated Cotswold Stone Self Catering holiday cottage, comfortably sleeping 10 guests. A perfect Cotswold holiday retreat for family, friends and hen weekends. Member of Visit England National Quality Assessment Scheme (4* accreditation) . Lakeside Cottage is located in the pretty hamlet of  Fossebridge in The Cotswolds

The accommodation in the cottage is very spacious; comfortably sleeping 10 guests in 2 King Rooms, 1 Twin Room and a dormitory room with four single beds. A Z bed is also available for an additional nightly charge of £35.00.

There is a large traditional sitting room with a log burning stove.  It is tastefully furnished with comfortable arm chairs, occasional chairs and two sofa’s. A Bang & Olufsen Television with Sky, a DVD player and a Video are installed. Adjacent, on the ground floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed and a newly installed en-suite bathroom, with shower cubicle, bath, twin vanity unit and a W.C. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances, including a miele dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, microwave,large freestanding fridge-freezer and a gas hob with elect ric fan oven.

The  dining area is adjacent with a large  farmhouse table and ten dining chairs. Also on the ground floor is the  Twin bedroom with a wash basin. Upstairs is  there is a Double bedroom with a King bed and a wash basin. Adjacent is the  fourth bedroom with four single beds. On the same floor is a family bathroom with a bath, shower over the bath, W.C. and a wash basin.  The Cottage has a private entrance, two driveways with  parking for 5 cars and an enclosed front garden.

Dog Welcome Cottage: Complimentary dog biscuits available from the dining pub & a water bowl(50 yards walk)& beautiful walks to be discovered from the door step.

Romantic Hidaway: Complimentary bottles of red and white wine on arrival for house guests. Lunch or dinner can be provided in the house, from the hotel’s kitchen or Breakfast can be taken in the hotel dining room for an additional charge. Private dining can be arranged in the hotel for a special celebration

Child Friendly: For children - wooden static ride on tractor and train located in pub grounds, tyre swing & domestic ducks to feed. House provides both a high chair and wooden cot

Disabled Access : The large master bedroom and en suite bathroom is located on the ground floor with direct access.

What you can see from the Windows: Kitchen and Breakfast Room are lakeside view across the beautiful 4 acre grounds of the Inn at Fossebridge.

Tourist Attractions: Lakeside House is perfectly placed for visiting many key tourist attractions including the stunning cotswolds villages of The Slaughters and Bourton-on- the Water which also offers the Birdland Park, Railway Exhibition and Toy Shop and Cotswolds Motor Museum. Also close by is Chedworth Roman Villa which nestles in a wooded combe in the heart of the Cotswolds and surrounded by beautiful woodland walks are the remains of one of the largest Roman villas in the country. Visit Cotswolds Farm Park at Guiting Power and discover Gloucester cattle to Guernsey goats, Cotswold sheep to crested ducks, there’s a rare breed for every week of the year. Animal audio tour, tractor school and farm safari ride. Touch barn, adventure playground, pets corner, daily demonstrations, gift shop and cafe. Also close by is Mill Dene Garden which is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This romantic garden is set around a lovely mill which is probably Norman. Sited in its own steep sided valley, the garden has hidden paths winding up from the mill-pool and stream at the bottom through the Rose Walk to the Cricket Lawn.

Eating and Drinking: Just a few strides away is The Fossebridge Inn. There you will find two traditional Cotswold bars and integral restaurant (one with a dart’s board and stag’s head), are located in the oldest part of the building, divided by stone archways. They are a wonderful retreat,  rustic and cosy, with flagstone floors, beamed ceilings, two open log fires, a log burning stove and mellow Cotswold stone walls.
The hotel’s enthuisiastic Head Chef and his team create high quality food which they describe as the best in pub food . Enjoy local ales, fine wine and good food, combined with high levels of comfort and service. The daily special’s board and creative dining menus offer dishes using fresh, local and seasonal produce, from light lunches, Fossebridge Classics to hearty main courses.produce.

Food Stores: The nearest supermarket is Tesco which is located in Cirencester which is only 7 miles away.  Why not pre order your grocery orders for delivery for the cottage.

Sporting activities: For Golf lovers there are two key Golf Clubs. Naunton Downs Golf Club which offers 18 holes and is close by and  13 miles away you will find Burford Golf Club a renowned 18 hole golf course. There is also Horse Riding at Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre, a friendly riding establishment offering expert tuition and scenic rides around Bourton on the Water and in particular the picturesque villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter.
