Box Green Cottage is a pretty three bedroom Cotswolds Stone Holiday Cottage providing self catering accommodation in the picturesque village of Box near Minchinhampton. The cottage can sleep five adults in comfort with one double room with kingsize bed,one double room with 2 singles and a large single bedroom with single bed.

The cottage is nestled in the hillside just below 600 acres of National Trust common land. The location is ideal for exploring this beautiful area and is situated between the towns of Minchinhampton and Nailsworth.

The Cottage is an old cotswold weavers cottage on 3 floors It has two narrow staircases making it an authentic cotswold experience. Please ask if you have any concerns . Accomadation is as follows Downstairs Lounge / Dining Room with open fireplace. Dining table to seat four people. Flat screen digital television with DVD Player.

Kitchen with Rayburn cooker, microwave, washing machine / dryer, plenty of fridge space, toaster & electric kettle. Well equipped with crockery etc.

Upstairs Bedroom One - Double bedroom with 5’ double bed and flat screen digital television. Views across the village. Bedroom Two -has a large single bed and there is a modern bathroom with roll top bath & shower over. The upper floor bedroom is a large double bedroom with velux window. Flat screen digital television with 2 single beds .

Oustside there is seating for two outside front door. There is no garden but the cottage is situated just off the village green & only a very short walk to 600 acres of National Trust common land.

Child Friendly:At Box Green Cottage supply with travel cot high chair and stair gates.

Dog Friendly: We supply dog bowl towel and few goodies.

Tourist Attractions: Box Green Cottage is ideal for those wanting to walk in the beautiful valleys around Stroud, with a range of walks direct from the door. It’s also perfectly placed for visiting many key tourist attractions including the stunning Cotswolds villages. Two miles away, the Rococo gardens in Painswick are the last remaining gardens of their type in England. Painswick - the Queen of the Cotswolds - is a beautiful village. Nearby visitBerkeley Castle a beautiful preserved castle, still with a flavour of its days as a Normam fortress. Impressive paintings, furnishings and silver. Find old keep and Great Hall and the dungeon where Edward II was murdered in 1327. Bibury Trout Farm is also worth a visitand is situated in one of the most popular villages in the area with lovely golden streamside houses owned by NT built along the side of the River Coln. Bibury Trout Farm is a long-established working farm breeding rainbow trout in forty ponds and tanks. You can feed the fish or try to catch your own.

Eating and Drinking:Just a few minutes walk away is The Halfway House a popular pub for both its food and its drink. Whilst offering excellent restaurant and bar food, the pub remains a social drinking pub not dominated by the food side. Set in the heart of Minchinhampton Common with unrivalled views of the Cotswolds is The Old Lodge. This 400 year old hunting lodge is the perfect place to escape the rush. Enjoy quality, locally sourced food served in the restaurant, the bar area, one of our smaller dining rooms or al fresco in our spacious garden.

Food Stores: On Saturday mornings in Stroud you can visit the best farmers’ market in the UK (winner of BBC Food and Drink best food market 2010). The nearest supermarkets are Tesco and Waitrose - also in Stroud, just two miles away. Why not pre-order your shopping delivery for when you arrive at the Chapel.

Sporting activities: There are three golf courses in Michinhampton. The Old Golf Course is situated on 600acres of common land, just a short walk away from the cottage. The new Minchinhampton club course at Avening features two world class 18 hole courses and a friendly club with fantastic food is 10 minutes drive.A nine hole public course is found at Westonbirt next to the Arboretum. Thinking of a winter holiday snow skiing then visit Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre, There are beginner’s course at the downhill artificial ski run will give the family an amazing advantage. After a short course here you will be a confident skier and be able to tackle a variety of runs across any resort. And try a bit of Clay Pigeon Shooting at Stroud and District Clay Shooting Club, a small and friendly club that has been shooting on the same site on the edge of the Cotswold’s for the past 30 years.
