Barncottage
Pitchcombe , The Cotswolds
Sleeps: 4
Bedrooms: 2

Overview
Barncottage, a spacious, recently converted Cotswold Holiday Cottage and was once a stone cowshed set in the beautiful Painswick Valley.
This cottage has been converted to a very high standard and is heated by both a traditional wood burner and underfloor heating. The two bedrooms comfortably sleep 4 people and has provision for a childs cot in the main bedroom.
The property consists of a kitchen, separate dining room, sitting room, shower room and separate W.C. There is a fitted 40” Flat Screen TV with Sky. A further TV can be found in the main bedroom. Although this is a single storey cottage there are several steps between the dining room and the master bedroom.
Barncottage is within easy reach of the small market town of Stroud and the larger city of Gloucester and the elegant spa town of Cheltenham.
Barncottage is next door to Barncastle and can be booked together to accommodate 14 people and is ideal for family reunions.
What you can see from the Window: A glorious view of the valley and outstanding countryside which surounds Barncastle.
Tourist Attractions: Barncastle is perfectly placed for visiting many key tourist attractions including the stunning cotswolds villages. Nearby visit Berkeley Castle a beautiful preserved castle, still with a flavour of its days as a Normam fortress. Impressive paintings, furnishings and silver. Find old keep and Great Hall and the dungeon where Edward II was murdered in 1327. Bibury Trout Farm is also worth a visit and is situated in one of the most popular villages in the area with lovely golden streamside houses owned by NT built along the side of the River Coln. Bibury Trout Farm is a long-established working farm breeding rainbow trout in forty ponds and tanks. You can feed the fish or try to catch your own
Eating and Drinking:In Painswick Village the Edgemoor Inn is well worth a visit. The The Inn is late 19th century and constructed from Cotswold stone, has picture style windows and is well known for its pretty panoramic views. There is an extensive range of home cooked meals and daily specials are served each day lunchtime and evening. Vegetarian menus are always available. Again in Painswick try St. Michaels House, a family run Restaurant which is located in a 17th century Grade II listed building which has a wealth of character, overlooking the famous village church. The lunch menu is relaxed and congenial with the emphasis on great value dishes. The evening menu is more formal, the emphasis being on enjoying the evening in comfort and style.
Food Stores: The nearest supermarket is Waitrose at Stroud just two miles away. Why not pre-order your shopping delivery for when you arrive at the Cottage
Sporting activities: You’re unlikely to be coming to the Cotswolds to play golf, but if you can’t do without a round, Painswick Golf Club is the nearest 18 hole course, just 2.5 miles away, on top of the panoramic Painswick Beacon. This is the highest point in the Cotswolds with spectacular views across to Wales and is open to the public to walk on. Thinking of a winter holiday snow skiing then visit Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre, There are beginner’s course at the downhill artificial ski run will give the family an amazing advantage. After a short course here you will be a confident skier and be able to tackle a variety of runs across any resort. And try a bit of Clay Pigeon Shooting at Stroud and District Clay Shooting Club, a small and friendly club that has been shooting on the same site on the edge of the Cotswold’s for the past 30 years.
