Niton Barns offes luxurious converted barns and ideal an Isle of Wight Holiday Cottage. Set within the picturesque village of Niton, located on the south cost of the Island famous for its Jurassic coastline, unspoilt countryside and outstanding views.

Each of our eight barns have been tastefully converted offering light and spacious areas and boasting all the mod cons you should expect from the Islands premier self catering accommodation.

Great walks with stunning footpaths and bridleways are all nearby; follow the coastal path to enjoy miles of rolling hills and countryside to spectacular views over the vast expanse of ocean. Close by are St Catherine’s Lighthouse, Niton “Undercliff” (officially recognised as an area of “outstanding natural beauty") and Blackgang Theme Park. Several beautiful coves and beaches are just a short distance from the barns, Ventnor is the nearest seaside town

Tennyson downs, on the outskirts of Freshwater was named after the great poet Alfred Lord Tennyson who resided on the Isle of Wight in the beautiful Farringford House.

Tennyson barn will appeal to couples who are looking for a romantic retreat, with a large bedroom featuring a freestanding bath, ideal for those special evenings in. Offering a spacious living area with large curved window overlooking courtyard and gardens.

Relax in the spacious seating areas, cosy up on the real leather sofas and watch you favourite TV show on the widescreen television. There is also freeview channels available and a DVD!

If you decide to dine in and enjoy each others company over your favourite bottle of wine there is plenty of space around the table for you, and all the wonderful dishes you have lovingly prepared.

All you need to create the perfect meal after a long day is provided. Electric double oven, ceramic hob, Microwave and a whole host of utensils to show off your culinary skills.

There is nothing better than to snuggle down in luxurious comfy beds and enjoy a hot drink after a hectic day. You can even catch up on the rerun of your favourite soap opera on the TV.

Weather you prefer a vigorous shower to wake you up or a long hot bath to sooth those aching feet from the tiring day, both options are available so the only worry is which one to choose.

Eco Escapes: Installing eco friendly systems to generate heat and hot water and reducing carbon omissions, drought tolerant planting schemes and recycling led to us being awarded a “Green Island Award” in 2008.

Tourist Attractions: Carisbrooke Castle, near Carisbrooke. Great family attraction with plenty of things to do inside and out. King Charles 1 spent his last year imprisoned here before being executed. Two Medieval deep wells, Castle Keep, famous donkeys and the battlements to explore. Osbourne House, a magnificent countryside retreat of Queen Victoria is a must. Make a grander entrance through a new reception area where an exhibition gives visitors a taste of the treats in store. Visit the newly refurbished Dining Room and Durbar Room with its exquisite Indian gifts. Stroll round the beautiful grounds, including the Victorian Walled Garden and the hot houses of tropical plants, terraced gardens and the hot houses of tropical plants. During the summer, don’t miss the delightful Swiss Cottage designed for the royal children.Or visit Ventnor Botanic Gardens. This is an interesting place for a pleasant amble amongst sub-tropical and exotic plants and trees from around the world. A Free attraction! The very small and quaint Steephill Cove is nearby as well. Amazon World Zoo Park near Newchurch is a great award winning attraction for the family. Learn about the rainforests and conservation, as well as birds, reptiles, insects, from the tropical rainforests. Outside displays.

Eating and Drinking:The White Loin in the centre of Niton is the closest pub being circa 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The Buddle Inn is 20 minutes walk in Niton Undercliff and has views of the Ocean. A little further afield in Ventnor is the Hambrough a Michelin star restaurant. Currently at number 20 in  The Good Food Guide The Hambrough offers breathtaking views over the English Channel as our guests share our passion for food and experience unique hospitality in this sub-tropical part of the Island.The Taverners in Godshill is a suberb pub with gastro food and about 20 minuites drive from the cottage

Food store: There is a Norris shop in Niton and if you want to pre order your grocery ready for your arrival at the Cottage Sainsbury’s in Newport we can organise that for you.

Sports and Activities: The Isle of Wight is a paradise for cyclists and there is a popular 62 miles / 100 km cycleway around the island, which offers some splendid views of the countryside and Isle of Wight coastline. Bikes can be hired from Wight Cycle Hire. Want to get the adrenaline pumping? A excellent round of Golf can be had at Ventnor Golf Coursewhich is the oldest course on the Isle of Wight and was founded in 1892.  The course is in a very pleasant downland and cliff-top setting with probably the finest views on the Island.  Providing panoramic vistas over the surrounding countryside and English Channel.Then take to the sea as there are registered schools offering kayaking, sailing and surfing. Try Whitewater Adventure Sports who offer a professional watersports packages and friendly service with a broad range of water-based activities and tuition to suit all needs from the total beginner to the most advanced level
