Walnut Barn sleeps up to eight in three doubles and one twin bedded room. Walnut Cottage sleeps up to three in one double and one single room. Rented together they are ideal for special group occasions sleeping up to 11.
London is 55 minutes by train (Horsham to Victoria/London Bridge). Gatwick Airport is 20 minutes and Brighton 30 minutes by road.
The area is well served by an excellent choice of restaurants, shops, theatres, cinemas, golf courses, swimming pools, leisure centres and top quality state and private schools.
Sympathetically converted, Walnut Barn’s is a beautiful 16th century, three-bay, timber-framed Sussex hay barn and stables into luxury accommodation in 2000. The original impressive oak frame is on display throughout, with solid oak floors, flagstone halls and a wide centre staircase leading to a minstrels’ galleried landing, with full-width picture windows. Quality furnishings, heavy drapes, bedspreads, Persian and Turkish rugs give an atmosphere of luxury.
Laid out over three floors are three bedrooms with king-size double beds and one with twin beds. All our beds have the finest, crisp, white Egyptian cotton linen, duck and down feather duvets and pillows, but we can provide hypoallergenic replacements if requested. We provide fluffy white bath and hand towels and towelling robes to heighten your enjoyment of the quality bathroom facilities.
There is a large master bedroom with king-size double bed, tapestry wall hanging over, vaulted ceiling and sitting area with TV, SKY and DVD and 2 further double bedrooms with king-size double bed and TV.
There is one twin bedded room which is situated on ground floor with easy access for less agile visitors and has a TV and there are 3 luxury family bathrooms with roll-top bath, walk-in shower, wc, basin
The large, well equipped farmhouse style kitchen has dining table and seating for up to 12 people, range cooker with double oven, 5 halogen hobs, dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine tumble drier, good quality crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen utensils.
The sitting room with comfortable sofa, armchairs, log burning stove, wide screen TV, with SKY, DVD, surround sound system, hifi system, wireless internet access and a library area with arm chairs looking onto courtyard garden with a private terrace with barbecue, garden furniture, parasol.
You can sit, relax and enjoy the courtyard garden, outdoor dining on your own terrace furnished with quality teak furniture, cushions and parasol, whilst cooking your favourite dish on the barbecue and enjoying a glass of something refreshing.
A trampoline is available for children to bounce on and burn off excess energy.

Tourist Attractions: Walnut Barn is within easy reach of the newly created South Downs National Park, and a short drive to the south coast, so a day out in the stunning countryside is a must. Visit Arundel Castle. The castle was originally built in Arundel by William the Conqueror’s sidekick Roger de Montgomery in the 11th century in order to secure the inland river port on the River Arun. Most of what you see was built much more recently, however. Extensive restoration, extension and remodelling of the castle was carried out in the 18th and 19th centuries. Cosmopolitan and historical, Chichester has plenty to offer visitors of all ages. From Roman villas, art galleries, theatre, historic houses and parks and even a planetarian! The Tudor Market Cross in the centre of the four streets is a great meeting place and often the site of street musicians whilst the magnificent Norman cathedral spire is visible from miles around
Eating and Drinking: Try the Fountain Inn in Ashurst which is a free house comprising several small bar areas with flagstone floors, wooden beams and inglenook fireplace. The Green Man is a charming red brick fronted, 19th Century Free House boasting a wealth of character features and an idyllic rural setting between Partridge Green, which is a mile and a half away. Also worth a trip to is The Red Lion which is set in the small but perfectly formed village of Ashington on the South Downs, The Red Lion is a smasher of a pub & restaurant known for serving good, honest food, a great range of real ales and quaffable wines.

Sporting Activities: There is some amazing walks available close by. The South Downs Way is a magnificent 100 mile National Trail. The South Downs Way covers 48 spectacular miles in West Sussex and the nearby Downs Link National Trail offers fantastic walking and cycling. For Golf visit Horsham Golf and Fitness Club. Unlike many other courses, playing 9 holes at Horsham Golf & Fitness will only take about 1 ½ hours, leaving you ample time to pursue other activities here at the fitness complex. For some water sports there is Chichester Watersports. The main centre for water based activities on the South Coast including:- Windsurfing, Wakeboarding, Waterskiing, SBDA boat drivers award test Centre, Kayak and Topper hire, Ringo/5 seat banana hire.
