Belmont House is a fine Edwardian country house in the heart of Edale and offers the ideal Peak District Large Holiday Home. It has recently received a complete 5 star renovation providing luxurious, high class facilities throughout. It is available for self catering or bed and breakfast.

Belmont is in the centre of Edale, five minutes’ walk from the train  station, two minutes’ to the start of the Pennine Way. Edale village has a

post office, a shop, an information centre, two pubs serving food and two cafes, all just a few  minutes’ walk  from the door.

Off  road parking, secure bike lock up and drying facilities for wet clothing and boots are all provided.

Edale Valley lies in the centre of the Peak District, conveniently situated for walking, climbing, mountain biking and all types of outdoor activities.

It is also a perfect location from which to explore the Peak District’s beautiful villages and country houses, such as Castleton, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

Belmont House offers self catering which combines luxury and convenience whilst maintaining original, Edwardian features and period furnishings. It is ideal for groups of 10 to 16, containing seven bathrooms and six large double/twin bedrooms, two of which can be arranged with an additional occasional bed, plus an expansive living room and dining room, each with large, double sofa beds. All bedrooms contain flat screen TV/DVDs and WiFi.

The dining room is big enough for everyone to dine together on locally fired, Denby crockery. The recently installed farmhouse kitchen contains everything that you may need to cater for large groups including a gas fired five burner, three oven cooker, double drainer Belfast sink and double width catering grill, ideal for cooking hearty breakfasts for large groups.

The main sitting room has a period style woodburner set in an ornate, Jacobean fire place, comfortable seating surrounds the state of the art 42 inch flat screen TV. A wide selection of traditional board games and DVDs are provided.

The second sitting room opens onto the kitchen and features a WWII propeller above the wood burning stove, sofas and chairs, and an extendable, oak table.

The spacious grounds include a large lawn (croquet and boules sets provided), a mature garden full of visiting birds including our friendly woodpecker, a sheltered patio and a large barbeque area offering amazing views of the surrounding peaks. There is ample off road parking for all guests. Travel cot and high chair available.

Tourist Attractions:This Peak District Holiday Home makes an ideal base for some exploring the local area. Visit Edale the perfect destination walking, climbing, mountain biking, hang-gliding or just to sit and admire the magnificent scenery. Close by is Castleton Caverns, the only place in the world where Blue John Stone naturally occurs. Ancient underground caves open all year round. Or visit Ladybower Reservoir and the dams which are close by. A little further afield is  Chatsworth House a super attraction for all the family. A warm welcome awaits visitors to this historic house and gardens offering an exciting range of events and entertainment for visitors to enjoy, from firm favourites like the International Horse Trials and the Country Fair, to the expanded Florabundance spring flower festival and our new Textile workshops and outdoor Discovery days. And Haddon Hall, the home of the Manners family in Derbyshire is one of the finest medieval and Tudor houses in England.

Sporting Activities: For Golf lovers try Glossop & District Golf Club which is five miles away. This moorland links makes demands on all aspects of your game, in particular should you miss the well protected putting surfaces. Or try Sickleholme Golf Club, a small friendly club nestling in the heart of the beautiful Peak District of Derbyshire With an undulating parkland course of 6,064 yards and stunning views, it is hard to find a more spectacular or enjoyable venue anywhere. For some Horse Riding visit Ladybooth Equestrian Centre who offer a wide range of ponies and horses to cater for all types of riders and offer a variety of riding packages. These include escorted Pony Trekking, Horse Riding, Farm Rides and Riding Lessons. There is also Fishing at Ladybower Fishery and Severn Trent Water who welcome all fly fishers to Ladybower.

Drinking and Eating: Its just a 5 minutes walk to Rambler Country House which is fast becoming a favourite amongst aficionados of excellent value meals in a great atmosphere.  And The Old Nags head which was the village blacksmiths. The pub is friendly and cosy with original oak beams and open fires in winter and offers excellent hand pulled ales and fresh homecooked food served all day.

Foodstore: There is a local shop in Edale and the nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Whaley Bridge which is 9 miles away and a Morrisons in Chapel en le Frith, 7 mins away. Why not pre order you groceries ready for your arrival at the Cottage.
