Outside Description

The garden is accessed through the lounge and is lawned and furnished, with the pretty Hetton Burn running along the end of the garden. There is a charcoal BBQ provided too for balmy summer nights.

There is private parking for 2 cars just along the bridge entrance to the cottage, no more than 50 yards from the cottage. You can park right up at the front door to unload and reload your car, but parking there permanently would stop the owner from accessing their home, as they are on site.

Downstairs Description

The entrance into the cottage is into the dining kitchen. As all of the floors are slate, slippers are provided if you forget to bring your own! Wet coats and boots can be left here to dry too.

The kitchen is bright and airy, and incredibly well stocked. The dining table seats just 2 and the kitchen comprises of all of the usual appliances.

Enter into the lounge and the seating is focused around the wood burning stove. There is an initial supply of logs supplied from October through till April

The bedroom is cosy and spacious with plenty of storage space. Luxury linens, fluffy white towels and flannel dressing gowns and slippers are provided for use too. The bed is double size (4ft 6″ wide).

The bathroom is located at the other end of the cottage and has a shower over the bath, wash basin, WC and a heated towel rail.

Child Friendly: One baby welcome. A cot and highchair are available for use upon request.

Tourist Attractions:
  • The Lowry Trail: Walk in the footsteps of painter Lowry who holidayed here and painted cobbled streets and seaside scenes from around the town. The three-hour trail includes interpretation boards where you can see Lowry’s work as you are looking at the real-life scene. Visit website
  • Berwick Town: Berwick has a number of great activities on its doorstep from exploring the Elizabethan Town Walls and Stephenson’s viaduct bridge to discovering one of the prettiest streets in Britain, Ravensdowne. Visit website
  • Holy Island: Only accessible at low tide, Holy Island is known as a place of pilgrimage. It marks the end of St Cuthbert’s Way – a long walking route signposted by wooden poles in the sand from the mainland out to the island. Highlights include Lindisfarne Castle and Lindisfarne Priory.
